Video Installation
OpenSpace Domshof, Bremen
Encounters is a video installation that examines how the dense and constant flow of urban life creates fleeting moments of shared space without genuine connection. Observing the choreography of movement in cityscapes, the work reflects on how individuals navigate urban rhythms—simultaneously together and alone. By drawing attention to unnoticed, routine interactions, the piece questions how these overlooked gestures shape our perception of others and the spaces we cohabit.
The installation explores the paradox of proximity in the city: how even in a crowd, one can remain distant. Through this lens, it considers the silent structures that define belonging, disconnection, and everyday coexistence. Encounters was selected for the Footnotes Open Call by Media Art Lab, an HfK-affiliated platform, where an extended interview on the work is also featured here.
