I've been here all along, didn't you here me?

I've been here is a series of audio works on female rage, developed through Sound and Research Creation. Rage is approached as a spectrum that can be tired, hopeful, defeated or self-directed, carried through non-verbal voice, live-coded sound and spoken word. Grounded in autotheory, the series brings theory into the body and into lived experience, asking where rage comes from, where it can be directed and what remains once being heard is no longer the goal. Across the two pieces, a presence that waits to be heard turns into one that simply stays. The cover art was built from video manipulation in TouchDesigner and then designed into the final cover.

I've been here all along, didn't you hear me?
Audio, 2026 · Strudel, voice

The first piece in the series begins from vocal stims: screams, grunts and mouth sounds that usually come out unplanned, here recorded and placed with intention. They cut through a glitching, drone-like texture live-coded in Strudel. Anger turns into frustration, almost gives up, and settles into a meditative breath. The piece stays with voices that are loud but not understood, the way female and queer anger is often said but not heard.

I've been here, still am.

The second piece moves from waiting to acceptance. Starting from a passage in Banana Yoshimoto's Kitchen, the essay asks where this rage is rooted and how it can be stripped down. The text moves through three spaces: an outside world of impossible demands and gendered language, a retreat inward where slurs are reclaimed as coordinates, and a self-made space that is sacred and inclusive. Written without pronouns, the voice stays open to whoever listens. Live-coded sound shifts from buzzing, static and interference into a slower, calmer layering. By the end, no one is being waited for.
